Bored
I hadn’t seen it. thanks for pointing it out.
BRILLIANT!!!!! Oh my God!! It’s so true!!
Wow… this video is like 4 months old. Hard to believe you haven’t seen it…
I hate to be the one to play devil’s advocate here but we should note that there’s stuff coming in Vista that I’d like to see in OS X/iLife. In particular the final item in the video where Microsoft states that you’ll be able to create slideshows from both still images and video. At present, as far as I am aware, you can’t do that on OS X because photos are kept in iPhoto and video is managed in iMovie HD, with the exception of video shot by your digital camera. While they can be mixed together in iMovie, it would be nice if iPhoto could manage your video as well.
Still, aside from this and a few other items it is good to see that Tiger is going to remain on the cutting edge even after Vista is released, let alone after Leopard arrives, although, apart from Boot Camp, what it will deliver remains a mystery.
Kelmon,
Please don’t ask for iTunes to manage our video. It already does enough. But you’re right. We have iPhoto for our pictures and iTunes for our music. We need something to manage our videos. THAT is the missing piece. I’d rather not have it in iTunes which is the direction I’m afraid Apple is going. We need something called iVideo or iFilm. I’d suggest iMovie but we’ve already got that for making movies.
^ Agreed entirely.
Or maybe not a whole separate application, but at least if you change iTunes to movie playback, it will change the layout settings entirely to look kind of like a love-child between iTunes and Quicktime.
but itunes is quicktime, this is why the two programs are bundled together. iTunes is simply the different user interface built overtop. For managing your completed videos and the like, this is fine to me, it’s meant simply to allow you to absorb the music and video, not edit it and adjust it.
I would say something like Keynote would be the missing piece that you’re talking about, in my opinion. It’s the heavy lifting slideshow app, so one would figure mixing pictures with video would be no problem for it, although I see no reason for them not to include something like that in iphoto I suppose, although I don’t know many people who would use their mac as a slideshow, one would figure those who would would want keynote, but whichever.
